You literally have 1 second to catch someones eye and entice them. What you choose to display will make all the difference in getting a good click through rate. Here we go over the basics which make a good listing and improved click-through rate.
Click–through rate (CTR)
“Is the ratio of users who click on a specific link to the number of total users who view a page, email, or advertisement. It is commonly used to measure the success of an online advertising campaign for a particular website as well as the effectiveness of email campaigns.”
Feature Image
Having a quality, en capturing image of your listing, campsite or tented camp will make the difference between you link being selected or glossed over. You may have the best campsite around, but for those who have not visited or heard of your venue before, you have lost them.
Tag line
Next, You need a good tag line. What is your venue about, what will the visitor experience? This with the image, will see a increase in your click through rate.
Description
Once the customer has the listing open you want as much info as possible about the campsite, this will also keep the visitor on your page longer. If not its on to the next listing and again, a lost customer. 300+ words, this is excellent length for your description , also good for google search as thin short content will not get indexed.
Media
Add more pictures. Nothing describe your venue better than the images or video. Add the link to your Youtube video. We are in a visual world with access to media at all times now.
You also have a frequently ask question section, think of all the questions you get asked when potential customers ring in. List them down. Don’t leave them wondering if your campsite is pet friendly or not.
Social Media
List your social media links, Youtube, Instagram and Facebook. People are sure to look around before deciding where to stay, and no doubt will be reading reviews.
Additional Details
Complete the additional details, its easy on eye and a quick summary on facilities.
This may sound like a lot to action, but having a venue for hire, BnB or campsite means advertising and multiple directory listings on different sites.
Don’t make it feel like a hack having to have it uploaded or provide the info.
Have a folder with your set of eye catching photos.
Have a up to date document with all the info you can think of. Description, links to Facebook, Instagram etc saved.
Have it zipped so most email servers will accept the file.
